Elections
The 12 members of the Board of Regents each serve for a six-year term. Every two years, one-third of the Board seats are up for election.
A joint convention of the Minnesota legislature elects one Regent from each of the state’s eight congressional districts and four from the state at large. One of the four at-large Regents must be a student at the time of election.
